554 System.Exception: E2CP:Too many SOQL queries: 101

Symptoms

An email bounce is sent to either the "Route Errors To" recipient or the sender, depending on how you have configured your Apex Email Service:
 
e2cpremium@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.x.apex.salesforce.com 
(Undelivered): 554 System.Exception: E2CP:Too many SOQL queries: 101 
(E2CP)


 

Solutions

This error will occur when there are more than 100 SOQL requests within the E2CP namespace.

Common causes of this error include:


1. More than 30 recipients included on an Inbound Email
2. Local automation interfering with Email to Case Premium's automation.

Status

This is a known limitation due to Salesforce governor limits. It is impossible to predict the exact number of recipients that can processed because the shared SOQL limit of 100 per execution can be consumed by customizations outside of Email to Case Premium. Some of the variables that can impact the quantity of recipients that can be processed are:
  • Apex Triggers
  • Record Counts
  • Attachments included on the inbound email
  • Email to Case Premium features enabled (Auto-Create Contacts, Add Case Team Members, Add Contact Roles)
For example, if you have triggers on Cases, Case Comments, Contacts or Attachments, they will consume some of the 100 total SOQL limit which may not leave enough for Email to Case Premium.
