Custom Survey Questions not available on Survey report

Summary

You are reporting on Survey records created via Simple Survey, and notice that you're unable to view / add existing custom survey questions within your report.

Details

This is likely due to one of the following items:

1. Check to see which Report Type is being used for your report.

Simple Survey comes packaged with a report called CSat by User which utilizes a custom Report Type we've included in the package called "Simple Survey". By default, this Report Type only includes fields which comes out of the box with Simple Survey.

To report on custom questions which were added through the Survey Builder, please select the "Surveys" Report Type, or a standard Report Type (such as "Surveys with Account" or "Surveys with Contact").


2. Ensure the affected user has sufficient access via Field-Level Security for the missing fields. To do so, please follow the steps outlined below based upon your User Interface.

  • Navigate to Setup | Administer | Manage Users | Profiles, and select the profile of the affected user.
  • Scroll down to the Field-Level Security section and click View next to the Survey object.
  • Click Edit at the top of the page, and ensure that at least Read Access is checked for the missing fields.

  • Navigate to Setup | Administer | Manage Users | Profiles, and select the profile of the affected user.
  • Click Object Settings, and select the Surveys object.
  • Click Edit at the top of the page, and ensure that at least Read Access is checked for the missing fields.
