Customizing the Simple Survey landing page

Summary

You are an advanced Salesforce and web developer who wants to customize the Simple Survey Landing Page

Details

This article explains how to clone the Simple Survey landing page and configure the site to display your custom page.  You can modify the markup of the custom page.  However, it is recommended that you do this in a sandbox and deploy the new page though a change set.  It is not recommended to remove any sections of the page or to change any of the rendered attributes.  The page CSS is included in a style tag near the top of the markup.

  1. Navigate to Setup | Administer | Develop | Visualforce Pages and locate the Simple Survey Visualforce page.
  2. Click on the page label, select all of the Visualforce markup, and copy it.
  3. Create a new page, clear the placeholder markup and paste the markup from the Simple Survey page.
  4. On line 4, Change {!$Label.Title} to {!$Label.simplesurvey__Title}.
  5. Supply a meaningful name like 'Simple Survey Custom' and save it.
To use your new page on the Simple Survey site:
  1. Navigate to Setup | Administer | Develop | Sites and click on the Simple Survey site label.
  2. Click Public Access Settings.
  3. Select Visualforce Page access and click Edit.
  4. Add your new page to the Enabled Visualforce Pages list.  Note that after deployment, you will need to replicate this change in production.
  5. Navigate back to Setup | Administer | Develop | Sites and click Edit next to the Simple Survey Site.
  6. Change the Active Site Home Page to the name of the cloned page.  Note that after deployment, you will need to replicate this change in production.
  7. Click Save.

Internet Creations' support team cannot assist with modified versions of the page and may need to troubleshoot issues using the page included with the package. Additional support can be obtained on Professional Services basis by contacting your Internet Creations Account Executive.
