Referencing Custom Field Sets for Rapid Products via a Custom Button

Summary

Rapid Products now supports using custom field sets via a new field set URL parameter. To utilize this new feature, a user must create a new field set on the Opportunity Products object (or Quote Products object if using quotes), set the display width for each of the field on the Rapid Products Setup page, and finally create a new button to reference this field set.

Details

Step 1

If you are using Rapid Products with Opportunities, navigate to Setup--> Customize--> Opportunities--> Opportunity Products--> Field Sets. Here you will notice the existing Rapid Products field set. To create a new field set, simply click New, give your field set a name, and drag your desired fields into the field set.

Step 2

After step 1 is completed, you now need to create a new button that references your new field set for Rapid Products.

If you are using Rapid Products for Opportunities, create a new button on the Opportunity Products object. The properties and URL of the button should be similar to the image below.

The field set parameter will need to be adjusted to the API of your custom field set. In this example, our field set is named "RP_Custom_ Opp".
