User cannot create new surveys in Survey Builder or Insufficient Privileges error


A user can not see parts of the Survey Builder or has trouble saving on any screen in the Survey Builder. The Survey Builder does not load, is missing components, or shows an Insufficient Privileges error.


The Survey Builder uses the Salesforce metadata API; to take advantage of its features, it requires users to have Modify All Data, Manage Profiles and Permission Sets, API Enabled, and Customize Application permissions.

If the Survey Builder loads with missing components or an Insufficient Privileges error, the running user does not have the proper profile permissions to utilize the Survey Builder.

In general, we do not recommend extending these profile permissions to end-users. The standard System Administrator profile provided by Salesforce already includes the required permissions to use the Survey Builder.

Even with all of these piecemeal permissions, the affected user may not have all desired functionality from the Survey Builder. Internet Creations cannot troubleshoot local profile settings.
